Help Our Cause
Material and monetary donations may be dropped off at our building (2307 S. Mobberly Ave.) on Mondays and Tuesdays between 9:00 am and 12:30 pm. Or at Alpine Church of Christ or Pine Tree Church of Christ during regular business hours. The following donations are accepted:
- Clothing - men's, women's, and children's
- Bedding - sheets, blankets, pillows
- Bath towels, hand towels, dish towels, and washcloths
- Dishes, silverware, pots and pans, cooking utensils, and countertop appliances
- Wheelchairs and walkers
We cannot accept large items, such as furniture, beds, mattresses, recliners, sofas, and televisions. Therefore, we do not pick up donations or deliver items.
About Us
Our Staff & Volunteers
We could not carry out this mission without our dedicated volunteers. Our volunteers are from varied backgrounds and unite to serve God and their neighbors. Each day is started with a devotional and prayer to set the stage for God to work through us as a team dedicated to the stewardship of the resources He makes available to us.
Volunteer opportunities exist Monday-Wednesday mornings in many areas: clerical and data entry, client interviews, door greeters, clothing room sorters, and grocery distribution. If you are interested, please visit us in person or contact us by phone or email.

We are committed to helping families and individuals in need by providing food, clothing, and household items at no cost.
Our purpose is to reflect God's love for others by caring for them spiritually and physically through sharing His word and food and clothing with those in need. We commit to serving others with kindness, respect, and humility.
Our History
For over 30 years, Caring & Sharing has served Longview and the surrounding communities by providing food, clothing, and household items to those in need. Starting in 1989 as a small ministry with a few volunteers from Pine Tree Church of Christ, we served about 100 clients from a small downtown location. Alpine Church of Christ soon joined in the mission, and it has continued to grow in strength and scope ever since, serving thousands of households throughout Gregg and parts of Harrison, Upshur, and Rusk counties.
Over the years, many local Churches of Christ have joined in making Caring & Sharing a success, including Hallsville, Longview, Cotton Street, West Mountain, and Rollins Addition. We also enjoy a working relationship with the East Texas Food Bank and Feeding America as a” Partner Agency,” allowing access to an extensive network of food donations and purchasing options to maximize our stewardship of the resources God has entrusted us with. We hope you will participate in this ministry through donations, volunteering, or prayer.
